I present the project “ SCRAPS-WORLD “.
For the artistic concept that I am carrying out I chose this name because it is simple, exhaustive, and immediate.
My works (made exclusively with objects that have reached the end of their life cycle), evoke creatures of a futuristic world … of a mechanical civilization that generates itself from the scraps and debris left everywhere by man, it arose when the greed for human civilization has decided to challenge nature .. thus triggering an irreversible process of self-destruction of mankind.
SCRAPS WORLD it is a very broad concept, it tells of an orderly world populated by hybrid and mechanical replicas of the organic species that populated the earth.
They come to life by enchantment .. and each has a specific social task … and learning from the errors of the human race they live and proliferate in harmony with nature.
In short, nothing catastrophic or apocalyptic .. indeed a NEW OPPORTUNITY and an ALTERNATIVE to total destruction.
With these words, Raffaele Cornaggia made his debut and presented the artistic project that re-evaluates objects “which have reached the end of their life cycle” and which come back to life in the world of Scraps World, each with a specific function and social task.
Even before politics began to take an interest in global climatic disasters and changes, Raffaele Cornaggia decided to put a careful analysis of this situation through his own works.
Evolution, resilience and adaptability, studied in every detail, in the proportions, anatomy of every new living being of Scraps World.
Even the study of the same logo was a meticulous job, which led to the decision between two elements that had aroused the artist’s interest.
But like Raffaele Cornaggia himself, his project was not aimed at communicating anything “catastrophic” or post-apocalyptic, but about the revenge and adaptation of nature to the sick world that had been oppressed by man for some time. .
The cogwheel, the rust on the words “Scraps World”, the name of Raffaele Cornaggia himself and finally the planet at the center of everything, were the keys to interpretation that the artist himself wanted to communicate with the logo of his artistic project.
Over the years, Scraps World has become more and more populated with living beings that adapted from time to time to the climatic changes, pollution and recycling of what the human being had abandoned along his path.
Collected, adapted, revised and remodeled according to the need and the way in which nature takes what was once its by right.
